A nostalgic day for me yesterday when I returned to the Court Martial Centre in Colchester where I sat as the Resident Judge for five years before retirement in 2010.My thanks to the staff  there ,both former and present, who made the visit possible and enjoyable.

One of the purposes of it was to talk to the local press about the military justice system, still not fully understood by the general public despite much publicity lately (see the case of Blackman – the Marine tried for murder of an Afghan combatant). This is particularly important in Colchester with its large garrison and the location of the  Military Corrective Training Centre nearby.

Since retirement, I have written Wig Betrayed ( the sequel to my previous novel Wig Begone) which follows the fictional Charles Courtley’s career after his appointment as a Judge Advocate (military judge). Charles Courtley is also the pen name I used for both books.

Wig Betrayed was recently published, and is now available for sale in all formats.
